This week, we at EquiNordic are delighted to announce the first Advisory Board member, John Roberts.

John has had a distinguished career in consulting with PWC Consulting and IBM, where he recently finished as a Partner & Vice President in IBM Global Business Services division.

Over many years, John has worked with several leading businesses in the Consumer Industries on transformation strategies and large-scale technology implementations. He has specialised in operationalising strategy and is highly experienced in both advising at the Board level and leading complex mission critical initiatives, at the organisational level, to successful conclusions.

On joining EquiNordic, John had the following to say:

“I believe the barrier for companies looking to incorporate Industry 4.0 technologies today is understanding how the benefits flow from adoption of the technology. Combined with potentially high capital investments and the perceived business and financial risks of adoption – there’s a natural aversion to change. So, our first job isn’t to educate people on the technology itself but rather the problems it is solving. If there’s one thing business people understand, it’s the problems they’re having. Technology is just the enabler. Once we can help them make the connection, then we can deliver real value.

Our second job is to provide the technology solutions in an attractive model. We have seen an increasing shift from owning to consuming in recent times, and these subscription-based models are the real transformation, not the technology.

EquiNordic not only has a business model that suits Industry 4.0 technologies, they also have a great pedigree with those technologies throughout their legacy.

I’m really excited about this opportunity, and look forward to helping make EquiNordic succeed in the future”
